Problem/Challenge
The customer was building solutions for DC, DR and near-line DR. He was looking for an IPS solution with advance zero-day protection which can be managed by a single console while the equipment is at a different location.
Solution
Insight has supplied and deployed the Tipping Point at DC and DR with zero-day attack solutions with Insight’s TCT- Security Vulnerability test and framework to manage cybersecurity threats. This helps the company to protect its internet and application servers from intrusion and malware. Our Professional Services Team ( Technology Consulting Team) has deployed the solution successfully at Mumbai and Chennai along with a comprehensive security policy as per CERT guidelines. Additionally, local structure cabling for newly builds DR site at Chennai and establishing WAN connectivity to all three Datacenters.
Our scope was also to manage the entire operation for 5 years 24*7*365 days which we delivered from our MangedIT (NOC/SOC) services. Which further got extended to 2 more years post expire of contract.
Result
Prior to this deployment, there was only two-tier of redundancy was there from a business continuity perspective. The customer has added one more layer of business continuity and automation in his security workflow.
Our MangeIT Services helped the customer to concentrate on his core business and offloading his compliance and other security tasks on our team.
About the Company
The Securities and Exchange Board of India was established on April 12, 1992, in accordance with the provisions of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992.
The Preamble of our customer, who is one of the regulatory bodies, describes the basic functions of protecting the interests of investors in securities and promoting the development of, as well as regulating the securities market and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
The Challenge
The Customer was looking for a solution to extend his Disaster recovery solution from the same city to another geography. His primary DC site was supposed to be converted to near-line DR and his newly build BKC was supposed to be Primary DC and Chennai which was under final handover to IT for the DR site.
All the deployment and movement suppose to happen while his operation was LIVE and no business impact should be there.
The Solution
Insight has supplied and deployed the Tipping Point at DC and DR with zero-day attack solutions with Insight’s TCT- Security Vulnerability test and framework to manage cybersecurity threats. This helps them to protect their Internet and other application servers from Intrusion and malware.
The project implementation included webservers, DB servers, email servers, backup servers, domain servers etc. Our Professional Services Team has deployed the solution successfully at Mumbai and Chennai and a comprehensive security policy as per CERT guidelines.
And they were able to protect from threats whose signatures don’t exist because of Insight TCT- security solutions and framework. The total work was for supply and deployment and to provide and manage services from Insight’s MangeIT team and maintain them for 5 years with Insight’s security assessment services.
We also cover the penetration test and reports conducted every quarter. A threat perception report is carried out every quarter so that the customer can take further action and implement solution/s for newer threats.
The Result
There have been many security penetrations post the implementations, but the customer could act manually and even in an automated way to suit business needs.
Our extension of services post 5 years of the contract was the outcome of customer's satisfaction and trust in us.
